The 24-year-old was linked with a move to Ibrox before the summer transfer window, but Rangers instead added Daisuke Yokota and Badredine Bouanani to their wide options.
TeamTalk reports that Fallenius is now under serious consideration as a low-cost way to strengthen the squad for the second half of the season.
His contract is due to expire at the end of December. That could allow Rangers to sign the Swedish player as a free agent when the January window opens.
Fallenius has scored twice and provided three assists in 19 appearances this season. He has been a regular for the Allsvenskan side.
He started his senior career with Brommapojkarna, scoring 19 goals in 46 appearances before joining Danish club Brondby in 2021.
He found it difficult to become a regular in Denmark and later spent time on loan at Norwegian club Start. He returned to Sweden with Djurgardens in 2023.
The report says he would be open to a move to Glasgow. Rangers chairman Andrew Cavenagh has indicated January may focus on departures, but Fallenius’ contract could appeal.
