Warrington Wolves have confirmed contract extensions for two forwards, both of whom were key parts of their squad in 2026.
Both James Harrison and Luke Thomas had deals that ended at the culmination of the 2026 season, and up to now, there has been no official word of whether they will stay or leave.
However, the club have today announced that both men will be sticking around at the Halliwell Jones Stadium after putting pen to paper on a new contract.
Harrison, who is a member of the club’s leadership group, will remain part of Sam Burgess’ squad until the end of 2027. The former Featherstone prop has been one of the many Championship standouts to excel in the top flight, and has earned his spot as one of the club’s starting front rowers.
Thomas has agreed a two-year deal, with Burgess clearly impressed with what he has seen from the 24-year-old. He has made 32 appearances for the club, 15 of which came as starting appearances in 2026.
The news comes just days after boss Burgess agreed a new deal himself, with the England legend also sticking around for another two seasons.
Warrington have made four signings in the off-season so far, with Leeds ace Brodie Croft the stand-out name. Wire have also signed Jacob Gagai from Huddersfield, Toby Crosby from Penrith and Mitchell Prest who starred for Fiji in this year’s World Cup.
We can confirm that the club has triggered the extension clauses in James Harrison and Luke Thomas’ contracts 💪
Both players will remain part of Sam Burgess’ squad in 2027, with Harrison’s contract extended by a further year and Thomas’ deal now running until the end of the 2028 season.
The Club looks forward to seeing both players continue to develop and make their mark in the seasons ahead 🐺
