Victor Radley reinforces Super League desire with 2028 move a possibility after NRL future admission

England star and NRL Grand Final winner Victor Radley has reinforced his interest in a move to Super League – and it could come around as early as 2028.

Radley, who is one of three late changes to Brian McDermott’s England squad this week, having dropped out on the eve of facing Papua New Guinea, has previously stated that playing in the UK would be something that attracts to him, but wasn’t a consideration at this stage of his career.

However, in an interview this week with the Sydney Morning Herald, the loose forward has confirmed that his desire to play Super League remains, and it could even be his next career move.

Radley is one of over 100 players in the NRL who have less than a year on their current contract. That means, from November 1, he is free to talk to rival clubs regarding a move for 2028. That includes clubs in Super League.

In a telling conversation with the Australian news outlet, he said: “The [Sydney] Roosters are everything I’ve ever known. I love the club so much. They’ve done right by me for years.

“It hurts me inside just thinking about playing elsewhere, but I need to look at all my options now.”

Victor Radley very interested in Super League switch

The 28-year-old added: “I’m open to everything. I love new experiences, that might even include living in England and playing in the Super League. It’s something I’d be interested in.”

Before any deals can be completed, however, Radley has declared he needs to change his management team.

“I’m joining a new company run by my fiancée’s uncle [Paul Williams], who has brought on board my good friend Max Muddle. I’m excited about that. We’ll sit down on Monday and work out what we want to do moving forward.”

One potential factor that could put Super League clubs off the 2026 Grand Final winner is his proneness to concussions and head knocks. Despite only suffering one failed HIA in 2026, previous seasons have seen him suffer multiple concussions, some of which came in a short space of time.

“I understood what happened to me at the start of last year – I was in that state of chronic fatigue, which is why I kept getting those concussions,” Radley said.

“I worked hard with the staff to make sure I never get into that state of fatigue again, and the proof has been in the pudding with just the one [failed HIA this year].”
