Can Women's Super League leaders Chelsea continue their winning streak? Last Sunday, the Blues were widely expected to demolish bottom of the table pointless Charlton Athletic at the Valley and, well, they did just that. Melvine Malard bagged a brace, while Nathalie Björn, Ellie Carpenter, Aggie Beever-Jones and then Giulia Dragoni were all on target in a 6-0 demolition.
More importantly, this was a seventh successive victory in the WSL for Sonia Bompastor's team, their only dropped points coming on the opening day, held to a draw by Aston Villa. This leaves Chelsea top of the table by virtue of goal difference, their's superior by 11 to that of champions Manchester City. The top two go head-to-head at Stamford Bridge next Sunday in a huge clash so, before then, can Chelsea avoid slipping up here?
As for Everton, how capable are they of an upset? Well, recent form suggests not very. Last weekend, Scott Phelan's team did at least stop the rot, holding Manchester United to a goalless draw at Goodison.
Before this, the Toffees had suffered back-to-back defeats against London City Lionesses and Aston Villa, actually losing three of their last four, only beating newly-promoted Birmingham during this period. Everton finished eighth last season and, well, are back in that exact same position again. Thus, anything other than a comfortable home win in West London would be a major surprise.
Following a week without a fixture, but with a trip to Sweden and then a top of the table clash to come, expect Sonia Bompastor to rotate her team. Naomi Girma is still nursing a calf injury, while Lauren James is a doubt, having hobbled off last weekend with a thigh issue.
Scott Phelan travels to London without Inma Gabarro, Zara Kramžar, Karen Holmgaard, Issy Hobson, Honoka Hayashi and Holly McNamara all due to injury. Ruby Mace is Everton's top scorer in the WSL this season, with just two goals, which has to be a concern.
