Tottenham Hotspur have set their sights on Sevilla’s Youssouf Fofana to further improve their squad and have already taken action to sign him next year.
The midfielder joined the La Liga side on loan from AC Milan on deadline day. He wasted no time to impress for the Andalusian club, catching attention from the Premier League and elsewhere.
Tottenham are the latest club from England to show interest in the 27-year-old, whose loan expires next June.
The Frenchman joined the Serie A side from AS Monaco in 2024 and had a mixed spell under Massimiliano Allegri last season. Ruben Amorim replaced the Italian at the San Siro in the summer and left the player out of his core plans.
Therefore, Youssouf Fofana joined Sevilla on loan and has starred for them. He has a goal and three assists in eight matches.

The Spanish media recently reported on Manchester United wanting to make a bid in January. On October 15th, Sport Witness relayed news he isn’t planning to cut short his loan stay in the winter market.
Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have now come forward, and Fichero states there’s an ‘open war’ between these two clubs for Fofana’s signature.
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are looking to sign Youssouf Fofana next summer. This will allow him to finish the loan spell at Sevilla, who haven’t secured a purchase clause.
After this season ends, the midfielder has to return to the San Siro, where his contract is until 2028. The next summer will be the Rossoneri’s last big chance to cash in from his sale.
Tottenham Hotspur and Juventus have taken action by formally contacting Milan to find out the conditions and to explore a potential deal. There’s no mention of the fee needed to convince Ruben Amorim’s side.
Spurs and the Turin club’s interest makes it complicated for Sevilla to retain him beyond this season. The demands of both the player and Milan would make it almost impossible for the Spanish club to buy him.
In that case, the English club and Juventus would battle for the Frenchman’s signature.
