It may yet be early in the Boston Celtics 2026-27 NBA regular season campaign, but there are some clear tendencies that can be seen on the court in how Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla has his team playing. Among them is the uptick in attempts by his teammates to get star Celtics forward Jayson Tatum open off the ball. That has not been lost on vet sharpshooter Sam Hauser, who sees it as part of how the team has adjusted to this version of the team on the court.

"I think it's just like we're just playing within the flow of the offense," said Hauser via CLNS Media. "And I think just naturally, he's been able to play a little bit more off-ball and get different looks and score in different ways. That's what makes him really good; he can score at all three levels and then score with the ball and without the ball."

"I feel like each and every night we brought really good activity and playmaking," he added, "whether it's deflection, steals, blocks, whatever it may be, charges, drawing a legal screen."

"So I think we've done a good job of that," said the Virginia alum. "It was really just trying to clean up communication a little bit."

"We're flying around, everybody's trying to make a play, and sometimes when there's no communication, two or three guys are maybe doing the same thing at once, when only one guy can take care of it – little things like that."
