The Georgia Bulldogs are in their bye week after losing to the Auburn Tigers 27-24 last week. Georgia is looking to improve itself as the Bulldogs prepare to face the Florida Gators on Oct. 31 in Atlanta.
"We've started getting ourselves better, doing a lot of looking within, self-scouting," Georgia coach Kirby Smart said. "They have a lot of goals for this week. We had the players in yesterday and got some good rehab in, got some walk-through in and then we'll practice today (Tuesday), tomorrow and again on Thursday before we give them a much-needed break. Then, we'll get ready to come back and start up on Florida next week."
Georgia had three turnovers and a missed field goal in the loss to Auburn. The Bulldogs will need to perform better if Georgia is going to win a third consecutive SEC championship.
Georgia plays a Florida team that has been inconsistent in Year 1 of the coach Jon Sumrall era. The Gators have two of the country's best wins with a dominant home blowout over Ole Miss and a gritty road win over Texas. However, Florida lost by multiple scores to South Carolina and got absolutely crushed against Missouri.
Entering the Florida game and for the remainder of the season, Georgia is more concerned about itself as opposed to the opponents the Dawgs are facing. Georgia still has the best record in the SEC at 6-1 and 4-1 in SEC play and is well positioned for the rest of their schedule, which is challenging.
