Rutgers vs Northwestern Game Preview:

The Northwestern Wildcats are off to their best start in six years. The team improved to 5-1, with a comeback 24-21 win against Michigan State last week.

The Wildcats were down by eight in the fourth quarter before QB Aidan Chiles scored a one-yard touchdown and converted a 2-point conversion pass to TE Alex Honig to tie the game.

Then with a minute left in the game, LB Matthew Smith blocked the Spartans 33-yard field-goal attempt, securing Northwestern’s third straight victory.

Rutgers is also coming off a come-from-behind victory against Maryland. The Scarlet Knights were down by 23-13 entering the second half, but answered back with 24 points to claim their first win over an FBS team this season.

Saturday’s game marks the seventh all-time meeting between the Wildcats and Scarlet Knights. Rutgers leads the series 4-2.
