Dana White may not be offering Colby Covington a UFC comeback anytime soon after his latest remarks.

The polarizing former interim welterweight champion’s time in MMA’s leading promotion ended suddenly in 2026.

Covington retired from UFC competition after being denied his desired spot on the UFC Freedom 250 card outside the White House this past June.

‘Chaos’ went public with his complaints, and fighter pay in the UFC is now among the issues he continues to raise.

Colby Covington targets Dana White’s boxing venture in criticism of UFC fighter pay

Covington was a vocal supporter of the UFC until this year’s troubles, which have sparked a different outlook from the Miami native.

After not having his UFC Freedom 250 wish granted, Covington accused the UFC of forcing fighters to accept matchups. He’s also called out Islam Makhachev and Khabib Nurmagomedov for their silence about the fighter pay issue.

‘Chaos’ has continued speaking on that debate, most recently by highlighting the differences in remuneration between UFC stars and the big names signed by Dana White to his boxing brand.

“I don’t like it at all. It’s just tough,” Covington said of UFC fighter pay during an interview with Ozoon Canada.

“Ever since they got into the boxing space with Zuffa Boxing, it just was like a big slap in the face to us UFC fighters.

“Why are you going to pay this bum Conor Benn $15 million? Who the f— is Conor Benn? Like, no one knows who that is. He’s a nobody. And he quit in his fight, literally just went out there to collect a paycheck and just quit.

“He didn’t even put on a good performance, he was out in like three or four rounds against Ryan Garcia, who’s nothing special. You know, that guy was beat up by Rolly Romero just a fight before. So, I don’t like it,” he added.

Criticism of the UFC’s pay model has grown since the compensation earned by the likes of Benn in Zuffa Boxing has emerged.

While the Briton earned a reported $15 million for his single-fight Zuffa Boxing deal, the UFC’s revenue sharing with fighters remains below 20 percent.

Whether Covington’s push for improved UFC fighter pay is genuine or a response to the hostile end to his career inside the Octagon is unclear.

He previously supported the UFC and Dana White in the public eye, but his position has seemingly changed following his dissatisfaction with the promotion.
