Joao Pedro has scored five Premier League goals in five matches this season(Image: Mike Hewitt)
Joao Pedro has been left out of Chelsea's squad to take on Tottenham this evening due to an injury that is being assessed.
The 25-year-old forward, who is the Blues' top scorer in the top-flight this season with five goals to his name, is being assessed but not deemed fit enough for the clash with Spurs. Xabi Alonso has surprised everyone by opting with Geovany Quenda for his full debut in the Premier League.
Elsewhere, Mike Penders has replaced the injured Emi Martinez in the only other change from the side that beat Everton away last weekend.

Martinez underwent successful surgery on a fractured jaw last weekend following a collision at the Hill Dickinson Stadium and is set for a spell out of action.
Josh Acheampong keeps his place in the defence, as do Maxence Lacroix and Levi Colwill. Pedro Neto, the match winner last weekend, is set to start on the right-hand side, with Jorrel Hato on the other flank.
Jordan Henderson and Moises Caicedo, this evening's captain, make up the Chelsea midfield. Cole Palmer is expected to start on the right-hand side of Morgan Rogers, who looks to be a makeshift No.9 at Stamford Bridge.
As for Tottenham, Roberto De Zerbi makes two changes from the side that beat Coventry City on Monday night. Mathys Tel and Mateus Fernandes come into the team in place of Tosin Adarabioyo and Dominic Solanke.
