The 77-year-old was left “bleeding extensively” following the stumble beside a Wagamama eatery in Tampa, according to TMZ.

The outlet reported that Flair hit both his head and eye in the fall, and also published photographs of the sportsman laying on his back on the floor as he was attended to by medical staff.

He was later seen being lifted into an ambulance.

Flair’s daughter Charlotte Flair, a successful WWE wrestler herself, took to her X page on Saturday to share an update on her dad’s condition with fans.

She wrote: “Not my dad telling the doctor he fell bc of warrior dropping him on his head … (ps: he’s going to be ok).”

News of the accident and subsequent hospitalisation came after Flair had earlier taken to his Instagram page to share a health update with fans, while explaining why he had been forced to pull out of a scheduled appearance at the Washington State Horror Con in Seattle.

He wrote: “I want to sincerely apologise to my agent, Steve Solomon … and especially all my fans in Seattle for having to cancel my scheduled appearance.

“Unfortunately, I am dealing with a blood clot in my leg, and my doctors have limited my travel to 3–4 hours. Seattle falls outside that range, and as disappointed as I am, I have to put my health and recovery first.

“Blood clots are extremely serious and can be life-threatening. We have seen this recently with Jalen Hurts and the complications involving blood clots in his lungs.

“It is a reminder that this is not something to take lightly, and I must follow medical advice.”

Flair added that he will be undergoing a procedure to “strip the affected vein” in the coming weeks, after which he’s hoping he will have more freedom to travel for both work and leisure.

He concluded: “Please know this decision was not made lightly. I am truly sorry for the inconvenience and disappointment, and I am incredibly grateful for your patience, understanding, and continued support.”

Flair has battled numerous health issues over the years, including being diagnosed with skin cancer in 2025 for “the second time in three years”.

A month later, he told fans in an Instagram post that he was “cancer free”.
