Andy Woodman sacked by Bromley after five years in charge

Bromley's social media channels confirmed the news with a statement just two days after Woodman's side lost 4:0 at home to Leicester City, the defeat leaving the newly promoted side 23rd in League One after their shock promotion last time out. Two wins against Barnsley and Huddersfield Town, combined with draws against Blackpool and Cambridge United have given Bromley eight points from ten games but ultimately it wasn't enough to save Woodman's job.

Bromley's owner and chairman Robin Stanton-Gleaves stated "Andy has been a pleasure to work with, and I wish him all the best for the future."

"Andy leaves with our deepest gratitude, three trophies to his name, and with the very best wishes of everyone at Bromley Football Club."

Andy Woodman took over the South London side in March of 2021 with no managerial experience to his name and has been instrumental in taking Bromley as far as they have climbed. An FA Trophy win in his first full season saw his side defeat Wrexham in the final before winning the National League Promotion Final in 2024. Only two years later Bromley would go on to do what many thought impossible and beat MK Dons to the League Two title, but after ten games the club and manager have decided to part ways.

With the news coming so close to Bromley's home fixture against Peterborough United, club legend Byron Webster has been named interim manager in the meantime as Bromley look to plan ahead for the rest of the season in an attempt to stay in League One at the first time of asking.
