Bella Mir is back in the win column after suffering a disastrous defeat in her shot at a UFC contract back in August.
Mir entered Dana White’s Contender Series with a rare endorsement from the boss himself, and comes with one of the most decorated surnames in fighting history. Her father Frank Mir is a former UFC heavyweight champion, and cornered her into what was seen as a foregone conclusion.
The daughter of legend Frank Mir missed out on receiving a contract from Dana White in her first attempt.
Unfortunately for the 23-year-old, she ended up on the wrong side of an all-time upset against Alex Apodaca and missed out on the contract. She returned tonight in Las Vegas on the RAF Wrestling mats, and scored a win within the distance over Hope Chase.
Bella Mir didn’t waste any time at all getting on the scoreboard with an early two-pointer against Hope Chase. From early on, it appeared that the relative novice Chase was going to struggle with the stronger and more technically proficient Mir.

Prior to her effort at the UFC, Dana White claimed that Mir had told him she had designs on winning Olympic gold in wrestling, as well as a UFC BJJ championship and a UFC world title. The ambitious youngster may not have shown that pedigree against Apodaca, but she definitely did tonight.
Chase survived into the second period thanks solely to the bell as she was brutally slammed to close out the opening two minutes. Within seconds of the action restarting, though, she was pinned and Mir now moves on to a match in Abu Dhabi with Kennedy Blades for the RAF championship.
