Chelsea’s Joao Pedro has broken a major barrier in FootballTransfers’ latest valuation update, while there are promising gains for BlueCo in Strasbourg. But it’s not all good news, with Alejandro Garnacho promising to be a problem for years to come.

Joao Pedro joins elite group of €100m stars

Joao Pedro’s ETV has hit the milestone €100m mark for the first time in his career following a rise of €16.4m in his figure.

The 25-year-old Brazilian has undoubtedly been one of the success stories at Stamford Bridge over the course of the last 12 months, finally ending the curse of the Blues lacking a reliable centre-forward.

Although he is currently missing with a hamstring injury, Joao Pedro’s form has been exceptional this season. He recorded a goal and assist in three of Chelsea’s first four Premier League games of the season before notching a double against Bournemouth following the international break.

Since joining Chelsea from Brighton in 2025, his ETV has steadily climbed and is now €102.7m.

The Blues currently have five players worth €100m or more – the only club in the world with so many valuable players.

Opportunities emerging at Strasbourg?

Life at Strasbourg has been complicated for owners BlueCo, but the Ligue 1 side has proven an effective route to the Premier League for the likes of Valentin Barco and Emmanuel Emegha. Equally, the opportunity to loan out players to experience first-team football abroad has been precious for the Blues.

A whole new crop of players are developing in France under head coach Hugo Oliveira, who only took the reins in the summer.

While this has been a complicated process in itself, several young Racing players have seen huge gains in their ETV this month, fattening them up either to make a profit for BlueCo or potentially a move to Chelsea.

In particular, defensive midfielder Samir El Mourabet has stood out, climbing €17.7m, while wingers Gessime Yassine and Martial Godo have also experienced big jumps. Keep an eye on this trio.

Chelsea have a problem: Garnacho loses 25% of his value in a month

Alejandro Garnacho is not the biggest of Xabi Alonso’s problems at Chelsea, but Argentine’s continued loss of value reflects a failing transfer policy at Stamford Bridge.

Garnacho is currently on loan at Aston Villa from the London side, but the former Manchester United youngster has yet to start a game for Unai Emery’s side, while he has not contributed a goal or an assist since making a summer move to Birmingham.

Chelsea looked like they were taking a gamble on the attacker when they paid United €46m for the player in 2025, but in their defence, they were paying well below the market value of the player at that time, so it could be argued he was a strong market opportunity at that point.

But the decline that Garnacho had hinted at in Manchester has only accelerated. Although he scored eight times for Chelsea last season, four of these came in the EFL Cup with only one in the Premier League.

Aston Villa’s failure to see anything positive from Garnacho has been highlighted by the fact that he has three Premier League minutes in nearly two months, and his Estimated Transfer Value (ETV) has dropped to just €28.7m.

Over the course of the last month, his value has been slashed by more than 25% from €40.5m to €28.7m.

It’s not an immediate problem for Chelsea to solve but given he still has nearly six years to run on his Stamford Bridge deal, he is already threatening to become a chronic issue.

Gittens’ value continues to plummet

In a similar situation, Chelsea are haemorrhaging money on winger Jamie Gittens, who has yet to make a Premier League appearance this season and has become something of a forgotten figure at Stamford Bridge.

The former Dortmund winger is currently out with an ankle problem and is not expected to return until after the international break at the very earliest – not that Blues fans would likely notice given how rarely he’s played for them.

His ETV still sits at €34.5m, but this is because his potential is still considered to be enormous. But his value is starting to be eroded. He lost more than €11m last month and that figure will only drop while he is on the sidelines – whether that’s because of injury or Alonso’s choice.
