While the Mid Walians sit at the foot of the rankings, picking up just one point from their 11 matches so far, Penrhyncoch is always a tough place to go and pick up a positive outcome.
Owen is looking to build on the stunning victory over front-runners Brickfield Rangers in the last league run out, but he knows home boss Gari Lewis will make things difficult for his side.
“These teams are always difficult to play against,” stressed Owen.
“They are tenacious and he will have them well drilled. I’ve got massive, massive respect for what he’s doing.”
While the Mid Wales side are struggling at the wrong end of the standings, Mold have put themselves in a good spot and they are second in the table, four points off top spot.
Owen added: “I want us to be towards the top end of the table and we have to do that by working hard.”
Max McGoona will be unavailable though suspension following his sending off in last week’s 3-1 win over Chirk AAA in the North East Wales FA Cup.
Aidan Farren marked his return from injury with a start in the cup clash, but he was forced off after picking up another injury in the first half.
However, on a positive note, Danny Warren scored two goals in only his second start since the end of August.
It’s been stop-start for Warren since he returned to Mold following a two-season spell with Airbus, but the goals against Chirk means he is now off the mark for the campaign.
Brickfield Rangers boss Gareth Wilson has heaped praise on Porthmadog – the team he takes his league leaders to tomorrow.
“I’m really looking forward to Porthmadog, who have made a fantastic start to life in tier two,” said Wilson, whose side bounced back from a 4-0 home defeat to title rivals Mold Alex by gaining their place in the next round of the Welsh Cup.
“Porthmadog have a side full of Welsh Premier League experience but we got there after a brilliant win.
“It was great to give some members of the squad a game as they have had to be very patient due to the start we have made.”
Teams are lining up behind Brickfield, with Mold, Newtown and Porthmadog all level on 23 points with around a third of the season completed.
There’s a reunion for Eddie Maurice-Jones tonight.
Now at the helm of Denbigh Town, he will be welcoming his former club Gresford Athletic to Central Park.
Gresford have lost just one of their last four league matches and boss Anthony Weaver said: “A week off after a really good performance the week before at home to Porthmadog and we were unlucky not to get anything from the game.
“Friday away at Denbigh is another tough test, but the lads are looking forward to it. We will be hoping to continue to build on the positive performances.”
Gresford are in the bottom two, a point adrift of Holyhead, while Denbigh are in 12th position after a tough opening few months to the campaign.
Title-chasing Newtown are off to Belle Vue tomorrow to tackle Rhyl 1879, while Colin Caton takes his Ruthin Town side to Huw Griffiths’ Bangor City 1876.
Caersws entertain Guilsfield and there’s a big Gwynedd derby as Bala Town make the short trip to Llanuwchllyn.
Bala, many people’s title favourites before the season, are currently eight points off the pace being set by Brickfield.
