Guilsfield rescue point with 95th-minute Parrish goal

Former Guilsfield goalkeeper Robbie Williams had been in fine form for the visitors during the first half, making a couple of excellent saves, before the hosts broke the deadlock on the stroke of half-time.

Joe Haycock swung in a corner which Williams misjudged under his crossbar and fumbled over the line to give Guilsfield a 1-0 lead at the interval.

Gavin Allen’s side started the second half brightly but gradually began to sit back on their advantage, allowing Porthmadog to enjoy more possession.

The visitors made that pressure count in the 68th minute when Osian Ellis struck a fine left-footed equaliser.

Porthmadog then turned the game around when substitute Gruff John came off the bench and put his side ahead after Haycock was dispossessed on the edge of the box.

Guilsfield introduced Billy Clarke for the final 10 minutes, with his aerial threat causing problems as the hosts pushed forward in search of an equaliser.

Their pressure finally paid off deep into injury time when a corner caused a scramble inside the area and Parrish bundled the ball home in the 95th minute to rescue a point.

Newtown made a flying start and struck at the death to seal a 2-0 victory over Buckley Town at Latham Park.

The Robins were ahead inside the opening minute when Hanoch Boakye chased down a short back-pass and the ball fell to Josh Astley, who rolled into an empty net from around 30 yards for his third league goal of the season.

Newtown continued to create chances, with Jamie Hyne unable to connect with Astley’s delivery before Astley fired narrowly wide following a Jojo Harries free-kick.

Astley was denied again after being played through by Gareth Evans on 32 minutes, with the Buckley goalkeeper producing a fine save to keep the deficit at one going into half-time.

The Robins remained on top after the restart, with Evans seeing a half-volley saved before captain Kieran Mills-Evans struck the post with a volley from a corner after 77 minutes.

Hyne then had an effort saved after Astley intercepted a short Buckley pass, before the striker saw an 86th-minute header from Harries’ free-kick ruled out for offside.

Newtown finally made sure of the points in the 93rd minute.

Uniss Kargbo’s defensive work and driving run helped launch the move before Astley held off his defender and released Hyne, who fired home his 10th league goal of the season to complete the 2-0 victory.

Caersws had to settle for a point despite an excellent second-half performance as Ash Harries struck late to secure a 1-1 draw with Bangor City 1876.

A tight first half ended goalless, with both sides having a couple of half-chances before Caersws took control after the break and spent much of the second period in their opponents’ half.

However, Bangor struck against the run of play in the 85th minute when Sam Parry put the visitors ahead.

Caersws responded quickly and were level just three minutes later through Harries, ensuring they earned a point from a game in which their second-half display deserved at least that.

Penrhyncoch lost their way in a 3-1 defeat at Holyhead Hotspur.

Rhydian Davies fired the Roosters into an 11th minute lead only for the hosts to reply with Connor Owen netting before the break.

Holyhead took charge after the interval with Cory Williams and Sam Jones on target.

Aberystwyth Town completed a comeback in a 2-1 win at home to Trethomas Bluebirds in Novira Cymru South.

The visitors led with Jonathan Hood on target but Aaron Williams levelled before the break before Liam Walsh fired the Seasiders to glory early in the second half.
