Better to be safe than sorry ...

Following UFC Vegas 124 last night (Sat., Nov. 7, 2026) inside Meta Apex in Las Vegas, Nevada, promotion officials confirmed to MMAmania.com that three fighters were transported to a local hospital for precautionary evaluations after sustaining damage in their respective bouts.

Those fighters were Thomas Petersen, Murtazali Magomedov and Jonny Parsons.

Petersen (12-5) was transported for precautionary CT scans of his head and face following his third-round technical knockout win over UFC newcomer Gabriel Lorenco.

“The Train” absorbed significant damage and was dropped multiple times during a disastrous opening round. However, Petersen survived, took control as Lorenco faded and secured the comeback finish with just 13 seconds remaining.

The victory earned Petersen a $100,000 “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Petersen has alternated wins and losses throughout his entire UFC career since earning a contract on Contender Series. His Octagon record now sits at 4-4.

Magomedov (12-0) was also transported for precautionary CT scans of his head and face following his unanimous decision victory over Jose Delano, handing the Brazilian his first UFC loss.

The 27-year-old Kyrgyz prospect improved to 2-0 inside the Octagon after earning his contract on Contender Series.

Magomedov produced one of the rarest submissions in UFC history during his promotional debut, becoming the first fighter to execute a Scottish Twister inside the Octagon when he tapped Melsik Baghdasaryan in just 77 seconds (watch highlights).

Finally, Parsons (9-4) was transported for precautionary CT scans of his head and face following his brutal first-round knockout loss to Jose Souza in the opening bout of UFC Vegas 124 (watch highlights).

“The Sluggernaut” was competing for the first time in more than three years after recovering from debilitating hip and groin injuries. Unfortunately, his long-awaited comeback ended with Souza flattening him with a right uppercut-left hook combination.

The loss snapped Parsons’ six-fight winning streak and marked his first UFC defeat.

At the time of publication, the results of the fighters’ scans had not been publicly disclosed.

It is normal for UFC to transport fighters to the hospital for precautionary reasons, especially if the fighters are involved in three-round battles that are full of damage or after suffering nasty knockouts.
