Deion Sanders says Colorado deserves better after falling to 3-6

Colorado lost again on Saturday night, and afterward head coach Deion Sanders said he knows his team isn’t good enough.

Saturday’s 20-10 loss to Arizona State dropped Colorado to 3-6 this season, and dropped Sanders to 19-27 in four years as Colorado’s head coach.

“The season doesn’t look good,” Sanders said afterward. “It doesn’t look good. I’m not crazy. I can see clearly. You think I’m happy? I’m not happy with the outcomes. I’m not a loser by any means, and I hate the fact that we’re coming up on the short end of these games.”

Sanders said he feels for Colorado fans and players because he doesn’t think he has done enough to put them in a position to win.

“It’s not a personal hurt for me, I hurt because you guys deserve better and the team deserves better. We should win. We should put our best foot forward. And I’m not seeing that,” Sanders said.

Sanders ran through the stats from the game and then said his team hadn’t played well enough.

“The fan base deserves better. They really do,” Sanders said.

Ultimately, Sanders says, it’s on him to coach better.

“We’ve just got to do better,” Sanders said. “And that starts with me.”
