El Grande Americano finally captured the AAA Mega Championship from Dominik Mysterio in the main event of  TripleMania night two in a crowning moment for AAA’s top babyface.

El Grande and Dominik would run it back for the title at AAA Heroes Immortales this past weekend, with El Grande again defeating Dominik thanks to interference from Dominik’s father Rey Mysterio, who would neutralise Omos at ringside with a steel chair.

With Dominik Mysterio now out of the way, here are the potential next challengers for El Grande Americano.

Omos

While Dominik Mysterio is seemingly out of the picture, one major threat from El Ojo still looms, that being Omos himself.

Omos has been terrorising Rey Mysterio in recent weeks, including a victory over him at TripleMania to get himself reinstated by the promotion after he had been suspended by Rey.

With Omos back on the roster and likely out for revenge on both El Grande and Rey, him being the next major obstacle for El Grande would be a big win for the Mega Champion.

Daga

When Los Perros Del Mal reunited in AAA, they did so by targeting El Grande Americano, with Daga, Angel, Berto, Bronco Nima and Karmen Petrovic leaving him laying.

While Nima has since left the group to be part of the 946 on Raw, the rest of Los Perros continue to dominate AAA, now reigning as the Trios Champions in the promotion.

However, we have yet to get the big singles match between El Grande Americano and Daga that was seemingly set up from their debut, which could be the next challenge for the champion.

Damian Priest

Back in July, AAA General Manager Rey Mysterio announced that former World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest would be making his debut for AAA.

Priest was part of the four-way at Ola de Calor in August for the vacant AAA Latin American Championship, which saw La Parka pick up the win to become the new champion.

Priest has not appeared in AAA since that night, but with him now a heel on the main roster after betraying R-Truth, he could soon return to AAA with his new persona to target El Grande Americano.

With a major AAA event set for January 2, the promotion will need a few big names to help sell out the arena.
