Estevao has just come off after 86 minutes of his first Premier League start of the season.
He got a huge ovation from the Stamford Bridge crowd as he was taken off. They’ve been begging for him all season, and today they got what they wanted with a start today.
It was the usual Estevao game – he’s on the pitch to take risks, and many of them won’t come off. For every completed dribble there’s one that doesn’t work out – but that’s a worthwhile trade from a player who is out there to make things happen.
He ended the game today with an incredible 9 shots – and that’s not including the two that led to the disallowed goals.
As it became clear the game was won, and that the Brazilian’s performance had deserved a goal,
His teammates weren’t even annoyed by a couple of his more selfish moments after the second disallowed effort – they understood that he had been hard done by in that offside decision and that his performance merited a goal. He didn’t get it, but apart from that he couldn’t have asked for much more from his first Premier League start of the season.
Morgan Rogers scored a brilliant goal to open this game up, tearing through the Manchester United defence after the break.
Marco Palestra had a horrible first half, and needs to up his game in the second period.
