What new PIF cash injection means as Newcastle backers make £500m commitment after sale talk

The Magpies are set for a cash boost as Newcastle United's "alignment" within the four walls becomes clear

Newcastle United owners PIF have injected £95million into the club coffers to underline their commitment at St James' Park.

As Chronicle Live reported on October 24 both PIF and the Reuben family have made a fresh financial pledge to keep the club ticking over. This time last year PIF pumped in £111m into United with Chronicle Live told this is another of a long series of capital injections by the ownership, with more to follow.

It is understood that £6.3m of the funding will be pumped into the Newcastle United Women's team as PIF's push to 2030, with the club hopes to be challenging for the Premier League and WSL titles by that point. The latest contribution - confirmed by documents from Companies House - takes PIF's funding close to £500m since the takeover went through in 2021.

Just over 12 months ago, PIF and the board injected £111m to the club's coffers in what was deemed housekeeping as the club look to stay in a sound financial state. However, as Newcastle look to remain competitive in the transfer market, the big cheque from the powers that be in the Middle East also means that combined with compliance with UEFA's SCR rulebook there could be scope for purchases in January.

In a week that has resulted in Matthias Jaissle becoming under fire after two successive defeats against Everton to go out of the Carabao Cup and lose three Premier League points, it is believed that the German head coach still retains full backing from Yasir Al-Rumayyan and the club's board. Jaissle has had supportive chats with sporting director Ross Wilson this week ahead of the clash at Fulham and Newcastle are committed to giving the Toon boss everything he needs.

After losing 1-0 to Everton, Jaissle took on the full responsibility of results on the pitch on Monday night. He said then: "We need to analyse that now. We need to look at the detail.

"It is also clear that I have the responsibility, and I also take that responsibility as the manager of this club. "And we need to do things better.

"There are many, many things that were not at the level we expect, out of possession and in possession. We want to press them (opponents) high and stress them out as soon as possible.

"We need to make a clear distinction that if the opposition overplay, we defend it in a compact block. We didn't see that much on the pitch (against Everton)."

Jaissle had also previously spoken about "alignment" within the four walls of the KNOX and that everybody is focused on the same goal. Back in April, sources at PIF were quick to shut down suggestions that the owners were considering a £1bn sale of the club. It followed assumptions that PIF were shutting down their interest in major sporting projects after the collapse of the LIV Golf series.

Suggestions and reports of a £1bn price tag for a possible sale were quickly rejected by sources close to Newcastle, with Chronicle Live told nobody is "flapping" about the project on Tyneside or back in Riyadh. Instead, it is about ploughing on with the mission to turn Newcastle into one of the top revenue earners, but more importantly, a top side on the pitch.

The same senior sources batted away suggestions that they will consider a £1bn sale and exit the scene completely after dismissing reports of a sale to Chronicle Live on April 4.
