Tyler Allgeier wins first NFC offensive player of the week award

The Cardinals had injury concerns at running back during Sunday’s comeback victory over the Cowboys.

But the player who stayed healthy was a big part of the win.

Now Tyler Allgeier has been named NFC offensive player of the week.

Allgeier had 191 yards from scrimmage including 147 yards rushing with two total touchdowns in the 33-30 victory. Both his yards from scrimmage and rushing yards were career-highs.

For Week 8, Allgeier led the league in scrimmage yards and was one of just three NFC players to record multiple scrimmage touchdowns.

This is Allgeier’s first offensive player of the week award. It’s the first time a Cardinals running back has earned the honor since Adrian Peterson in Week 6 of the 2017 season.
