Daniil Medvedev will play at the Nitto ATP Finals in Turin (Nov. 15-22). The Russian qualified on Friday by beating Adrian Mannarino 6-2, 6-3 in the Vienna quarterfinals, a win that lifted him to 3,860 points in the PIF ATP Live Race to Turin, above the 3,785 that guarantees a place. It is his seventh qualification in eight years.
Medvedev joins Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz and Ben Shelton, which leaves four places to fill. Jannik Sinner, second in the Race, is out for the rest of the season. Those four places are held by Flavio Cobolli (3,690), Arthur Fils (3,535), Frances Tiafoe (3,430) and Rafael Jodar (3,209), and none of them is still playing this week. Behind them, Alex de Minaur can take ninth place from Jodar by reaching the Vienna final.

PIF ATP Live Race to Turin, points since Jan. 1, Friday evening. Zverev, Alcaraz, Shelton and Medvedev have qualified. Sinner is out for the season, so ninth place is the last place in. “Week over”: out of Vienna and Basel.
The win was Medvedev’s 100th tour-level quarterfinal and sent him into his fifth semifinal in as many weeks. He becomes the second man to reach 10 semifinals this season, after Zverev, who also reached the Vienna semifinals on Friday. Medvedev had saved a match point against Cameron Norrie in the second round on Thursday.
De Minaur, first man outside the cut, beat Matteo Berrettini 7-6, 6-2 for the 350th tour-level win of his career and his third consecutive semifinal in Vienna. He moves to 3,080 points, 129 behind Jodar. A win in the semifinals would take him to 3,210, one point above Jodar, and the title to 3,380.
Fils, seventh in the Race, retired against Taylor Fritz trailing 6-2, 2-0 in the Basel quarterfinals. His week ends on 3,535 points, and with it his chance to qualify this week, which required the title. Fritz reaches his first semifinal in Basel and moves to 2,895 points, but he cannot pass Jodar this week: the title would take him to 3,195.
Tommy Paul lost to Alcaraz 6-4, 7-6 in Vienna and stays on 2,775 points. Alcaraz, already qualified, moves into the 50th tour-level semifinal of his career.
Only two contenders are still playing: de Minaur in Vienna and Fritz in Basel. Neither can reach Turin this week. De Minaur is the only one who can change the order inside the top nine, by reaching the final. His maximum of 3,380 stays below Tiafoe’s 3,430, so Cobolli, Fils and Tiafoe keep their places whatever happens this weekend.
