Tyson Fury's little-known teenage nephew has bagged himself a medal at the European Boxing Championships as he continues to build himself a promising career in the sport. Shane Fury Jr, the 13-year-old son of Tyson's brother Shane, is currently representing England under-15s at the tournament, which is being held in Turkey. He has impressed in the ring, reaching the under-70kg semi-finals with a narrow 3-2 victory over highly-rated Ukrainian prospect Bohdan Moroz.
It means Shane Jr is guaranteed at least a bronze medal and he was congratulated by Tyson shortly after his fight, with the Gypsy King sharing a proud message on Instagram.
He said: "Get up there, my Shane! Shane just beat the Ukrainian in the quarter-final to secure a bronze medal. He fights next time for a silver in the semis.
"So, so proud of him. I’m f***ing sat here shaking like a s**ting dog. Wow, the nerves on me from a f***ing child boxing is unbelievable.
"I can’t believe he’s done it, though. He’s very inexperienced, but he’s got himself a bronze medal and he beat a very good kid in the Ukrainian, a Ukrainian southpaw. So well done. Get up, Shane!"
Shane Jr is the latest in a long line of talented boxers from the Fury family, with Tyson's sons Prince John James and Prince Adonis Amaziah having also trained in the ring.
Shane Sr is also an accomplished amateur boxer, having previously won a gold medal representing England at the Four Nations tournament, but is more widely known as a member of Tyson's close circle.
Shane Jr isn't the only boxer with a famous name at the European Championships, with Daniel Dubois' younger brother Solomon also taking part.
Lola Hatton, the niece of the late great Ricky, is competing in the women's category and will move into the under-60kg final if she beats Russian rival Kristina Okhlopkova on Saturday.
