After deciding late that he wanted a career in sports journalism, Daniel worked his way up the ladder in an unconventional manner.

Having opted against university, Daniel worked with Sky Sports as a freelance contributor and translator during transfer windows while also volunteering on several other blog pages and outlets to get a portfolio of content together.

Daniel then worked with Barnet FC as part of their social media team before starting his own website, which focused on football and MMA content.

That eventually led to work with 90min and Reach PLC with The Mirror, Daily Record, Daily Express, and Manchester Evening News.

Following that, Daniel spent two-and-a-half years with Breaking Media covering Everton, Rangers, Leeds, West Ham and other clubs before joining GiveMeSport as a Premier League editor.

As well as football, Daniel is a huge MMA fan and has appeared on YouTube and podcast content too.

Manchester United were absolutely thrashed by Como in the Champions League on Wednesday night, as Cesc Fabregas' side claimed a stunning 4-1 win.

United fell behind within the opening two minutes for a second week in a row after Nico Paz curled a brilliant left-footed effort beyond Senne Lammens to give the hosts the lead. Como dominated the rest of the half, with Carrick's side failing to register a single shot on target.

Carrick made two changes at half-time, with Baleba and Amad replacing Cunha and Santos, but it changed very little. It took just three minutes of the second half for Como to double their lead, as Paz found Douvikas to curl into the net. Paz then continued his brilliant performance by outrunning Youri Tielemans to slot home his second before the hour mark.

Como then made it 4-0 as defender Jacobo Ramon roamed forward to head home from a cross, wrapping up a historic win, as Joshua Zirkzee got a consolation in injury time.

Diogo Dalot Turns in Horror Show

Senne Lammens - D

Could do nothing about any of the goals he conceded, and wasn't helped by the defence at all.

Diogo Dalot - F

Man Utd fans have long been frustrated with their Portuguese defender, and he showed why. Missed a sitter in the opening minute, and then offered very little at either end of the pitch as United chased an equaliser that never came.

Harry Maguire - E

Maguire has never really been good enough to be a leading defender for Man Utd, and his performances this season suggest that the new contract they gave him was a mistake too. Was way off it for the first goal, nowhere to be seen for the second, and his lack of mobility and athleticism was exposed constantly by Como's attack.

Matthijs De Ligt - E

His first game back for almost a year and it showed. Was left in the dust for Douvikas' goal with some really poor marking and tracking, and couldn't help with the build-up in possession at all during the game.

Noussair Mazraoui - E

The Moroccan was used at left-back in the absence of Shaw, Dorgu and Heaven, but he struggled with the brilliance of Nico Paz drifting in-field, and ultimately was poor.

Andrey Santos - F

Santos struggled with the passing angles that Como created in midfield, and other than a yellow card and some wayward passes, he did nothing else. Was hooked at the break.

Mason Mount - E

Mount was handed a surprise start in midfield, but the Englishman was poor in his new deeper role. Couldn't help United get control of the ball despite having extra bodies in the heart of the pitch, and offered nothing in the final third either.

Youri Tielemans - F

After arriving from Aston Villa, the expectation was that Tielemans would help to dominate games and control possession for United. But he couldn't get to grips with the game, and he consistently looks out of shape and not athletic enough, which is costing the team in transitions.

Bruno Fernandes - U

The captain is clearly hurt and nursing an injury, but his performance against Como was one of his worst. Constantly moaning and flinging his arms around, he lost possession countless times, offered nothing going forward, and led an incredibly poor press. Was substituted after 66 minutes.

Matheus Cunha - E

The Brazilian was brought in from the start but offered absolutely nothing in the final third other than a wayward shot in the final seconds of the first half. Was taken off at half-time, after arguably his worst performance for the club.

Bryan Mbeumo - E

The team's top scorer this season was deprived of any sort of service in the final third during the game, but didn't do enough to help create things for himself or others.

Substitutes Struggle for United

Carlos Baleba
Amad - C

Amad was expected to bring some pace and directness to the team. He beat his full-back on a few occasions, and registered an assist for Zirkzee's consolation.

Carlos Baleba - D

A big error in the build-up to Como's third goal will take the headlines, but he was probably the brightest spark on the night, winning possession regularly in midfield.

Joshua Zirkzee - D

Came on for Bruno Fernandes and barely touched the ball in the 25 minutes he was on the pitch until he scored in injury time with a well-taken finish in the box.
