LAS VEGAS – Waldo Cortes Acosta likes his chances of getting a knockout at UFC Fight Night 293.

The Dominican fighter not only has extreme confidence in his punching power and striking, but he also has little confidence in his opponent's ability to take a hit. Cortes Acosta (17-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) fights veteran Johnny Walker (23-10 MMA, 9-7 UFC) in the main event of Saturday's UFC Fight Night 293, which takes place at the Meta APEX (Paramount+).

This will be Walker's second fight at heavyweight, as he recently debuted in the division with a spectacular knockout of Mick Parkin. Although the Brazilian impressed many in his heavyweight debut, Cortes Acosta is not too high on his rival's potential in the new weight class.

"I think him trying to be better now at heavyweight because at light heavyweight he didn't do nothing at all," Cortes Acosta said at Wednesday's UFC Fight Night 293 media day. "He didn't have a lot finishes at light heavyweight because everybody would knock him out. He doesn't have a chin. It's like a doorbell; it's easy to hit it. Now he thinks he can be at heavyweight and have a better chance to move forward and one day get a title shot, but before that he needs to pass me and a lot of people, real heavyweights."

Some might caution Cortes Acosta about Walker's speed and explosiveness, but Cortes Acosta doesn't think there's much to be cautious about when facing Walker this Saturday.

"I don't need to measure anybody," Cortes Acosta said. "I go after him and look to break his head. I don't think I need to play with anybody. I know now how my chin is, it's like metal, and my punches, if I move my feet, you're going to sleep."
