Luke Littler can no longer call himself the youngest player ever to complete a televised nine-darter finish after Archie Self achieved the feat. The 16-year-old has etched his name into the history books after accomplishing the remarkable achievement during the MODUS Super Series. Self got off to a stunning start by producing a flawless opening nine darts in the first leg of his match against Danny Ayres, going on to secure an eventual victory. The teenage talent left commentators speechless, having already come close to achieving the milestone during Champions Week.

"Yes, young man, it's nine, it's the nine," declared Pluto TV's commentator. "He's done everything else this week, but he brings home the nine-darter in Champions Week. What a player, what a shot."

Littler secured his first televised nine-dart checkout just days before his 17th birthday. Self has managed to claim the mark three weeks before he is even legally allowed to learn to drive.

The Archer has firmly established himself as one of the sport's most exciting prospects, competing across the JDC, PDC, ADC, and MODUS circuits. At just 15, he claimed the WDF World Youth title.

Self's PDC Players Championship debut arrived in August against Littler. Despite falling to the Nuke, he went on to push Keane Barry all the way to a deciding leg.

The young talent's maiden PDC ProTour victory came in September against Pero Ljubic. Self recorded a 98+ average before proceeding to defeat Karel Sedlacek in the second round of the Players Championship in Den Bosch before narrowly falling to William O'Connor.

It wasn't long before Self secured his first piece of silverware as he subsequently claimed his inaugural PDC Development Tour title with a 5-2 triumph over Sam Jackson earlier this month, once more averaging above 90 (91.64).

Self is poised for a spot in Saturday's Champions Week Finale this weekend with a commanding lead at the summit of Group A following 15 matches. The teenager has compiled a 13-2 record against the likes of Derek Coulson, Andy Baetens and David Davies, and averaged 99.77, more than five higher than his nearest rival.
