Jamie Carragher believes Michael Carrick needs to be sacked as Manchester United manager immediately, not only for the club, but for the man himself.
Manchester United suffered a humiliating defeat at Old Trafford, losing 3-0 to Bournemouth on Sunday afternoon and the supporters made their feelings crystal clear after the final whistle sounded.
Goals from Rayan, Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson condemned United to another Premier League defeat, making it eight games without a win for the Red Devils and piling the pressure even further on Carrick's shoulders.
Carrick made the bold move to name his captain Bruno Fernandes on the substitutes' bench after the Portuguese star's comments on the club in the wake of the 4-1 defeat to Como in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
Speaking after the defeat in Italy, Fernandes had said: "It's a decision from the staff to not press man-to-man and sometimes leave space behind and try to get the ball, but sometimes when you give too much the ball to these teams they get confidence.
And when asked if Carrick got his tactics wrong, Fernandes replied:
That's on the manager and staff to see it, not me.
Carrick left Fernandes on the bench for the game with Bournemouth and even when they were chasing the game, refused to bring him on, with the 32-year-old left as an unused substitute.
Carrick appeared emotional as he walked around the Old Trafford pitch, clapping the supporters and thumping his chest. The supporters responded in kind, chanting his name. And once he went down the tunnel, boos rang around the old stadium, clearly aimed at the players, who had let the manager and the club down.
Did it happen before or after?

And, speaking immediately after the final whistle, Sky Sports pundit Carragher said a decision needs to be made "tonight".
He said: "Michael Carrick needs to be relieved of his duties tonight, not just for the good of Manchester United going forward but for the good of Michael Carrick.
"It's not nice watching him there walking round the stadium, clapping the supporters. He's really emotional, really hurting and what's happening right now is not good for Manchester United and it's not good for Michael Carrick."
