Celtic star dubbed new Erling Haaland as Rangers boss Derek McInnes' coat back on shoogly peg - Hotline

The phones were red hot as we gear up for another powderkeg weekend of Premiership action

One has rattled 12 goals this season. The other couldn't hit a barn door.

Yet misfiring Kasper Hogh has still been tipped to become Celtic's answer to Man City superstar Erling Haaland. It's now 10 games and counting since the Hoops' record signing last found the net for Martin O'Neill's men.

But Stephen Mulhern, from Dumbarton, isn't ready to write off the £11million striker just yet. He said: "I was encouraged to read the Bobo\Glimt insider saying Kasper Hogh struggled at first on his arrival, which still makes me believe we will, in time, have the Scottish league equivalent of Erling Haaland. Okay, he’s struggling to hit the net at present but his turn and spin to set up Celtic's last goal was absolutely sensational on Sunday."

No pressure, big man.

Elsewhere, Marty Roberts, from Clydebank, isn't buying into the hype surrounding Celtic's new deadball guru Ross Grant after the 7-1 demolition of Hearts.

He said: "Once again, Stephen Mulhern comes out with a belter. He said that Derek McInnes would be sick, as his former set-piece coach helped mastermind Celtic's first two goals against Hearts... hate to burst his bubble but it was just two straight forward corners that the Hearts defender made a mess of..."

Meanwhile one punter predicted both Hearts and Hibs will have different gaffers in place in the not so distant future.

Stephen Johnstone, Ardentinny, wrote: "Celtic's 7-1 demolition of Hearts could leave Wouter Vrancken like Hibs' new boss - staring at the exit door. Both teams will be looking for new managers and Steven Pressley should be a strong contender for one of the Edinburgh rivals."

The Jambos are in action against Mo Salah's Trabzonspor, while Celtic face Celta Vigo. But Europe-less Rangers have their feet up after another free midweek.

Rangers manager Derek McInnes

And after dropping points at Dens Park last weekend, Stewart Montgomery, Cumbernauld, insists McInnes has no room for error when St Johnstone roll into Ibrox on Saturday. He said: "With Celtic and Hearts in action, it's another free week for Rangers. And dropping points at home to St Johnstone would be unforgivable. McInnes took the plaudits after the Old Firm double but there's no point beating Celtic and stumbling elsewhere. If four becomes six or seven points this weekend then we can forget 56."

Peter Cooperwhite is also demanding a response after the shock slip-up. He said: "Now that a bit of the dust has settled after Dundee, Saturday's game is a must now to secure three points and play the way they did against the Celtic double. It's a must for players to perform and the manager to get his act together again. No more nonsense. We've been down many a road like this for a long time. I hope McInnes takes it in, or I'll take my humble pie back and place it somewhere."

Finally, ex-Scotland hero Don Hutchison told Record Sport this week that Rangers legend Barry Ferguson would be worth nine figures in today's transfer market.

But Ian Urquhart isn't having any of it. He added: "I respect Hutchison as a player, but he has either had a bang on the head or has had too many wines if he thinks Sideways Barry would be worth £100m if he was playing now."

We'll let Barry know you were asking for him, Ian...
