Jan-Christian Dreesen says Bayern Munich want to discuss a potential contract extension with Michael Olise "when the time is right".
Bayern Munich CEO Jan-Christian Dreesen has addressed Michael Olise’s future at the club, saying that the Bavarians want to keep the French winger “for as long as possible”.
Olise was linked with a move to Real Madrid during the summer, but ultimately remained at Bayern, where he is under contract until 2029.
Asked about a potential contract extension beyond that date, Dreesen said the Bayern management plan to sit down with the winger and his representatives “when the time is right”.
“There is no need to discuss whether Michael is a gifted footballer – he most certainly is. If someone asked me today whether he would win the Ballon d'Or one day, my answer would always be: I don't see why not. Of course, he also needs a team that functions well around him. He has that here with us, and he appreciates it. We want Michael to play for us for as long as possible. When the time is right, we will discuss the future with him,” Dreesen told Sport Bild.
Olise joined Bayern from Crystal Palace in 2024 for a reported fee of €53 million. His market value has since risen to €180 million, according to Transfermarkt.
