West Ham United’s Jean-Clair Todibo has endured a miserable start to life at RC Lens, but the French side reportedly have no plans to terminate his loan deal ahead of schedule.
Just days after Lens’ deadline day signing was labelled a ‘complete disaster’ in the local press, Todibo hardly covered himself in glory during what was another dreadful day at the office.
Freddie Potts’ Club Brugge cruised to a 3-0 Champions League victory over Lens at the Jan Breydel Stadium on Wednesday night. Jean-Clair Todibo was only introduced after the interval, but his role in both of Brugge’s second-half goals invited further questions about a man who probably regrets freezing himself out at West Ham United. Thus, denying himself a pre-season.

Tomas Soucek of West Ham United celebrates with teammates after scoring the team's fifth goal during the Sky Bet Championship match between Lincoln City and West Ham United at the Gelder Group Sincil Bank Stadium in Lincoln, on October 14, 2026.
The boss only wanted to work with players ‘100 per cent’ committed to a season in the second-tier. Todibo didn’t exactly seem like he had his heart in it when playing top-flight football, so it’s hard to imagine him throwing his body on the line to protect a midweek win at Bolton Wanderers.
Hammers News have already confirmed that another of their loaned-out legion Niclas Fullkrug will not be rejoining Nuno’s ranks in early-2027.
Fullkrug has been a man reborn at Werder Bremen, topping the Bundesliga scoring charts with six goals in six games. West Ham do not have a re-call clause at their disposal and, even if they did, Nuno would not trigger it.
