The career of a fan-favourite in World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) could be about to take a sad turn after the latest update emerged.

WWE is the largest and most valuable professional wrestling promotion in the world, having brought the sport into film, football, and other business opportunities.

Over the years, some of the sport’s biggest names include the likes of Triple H, Dwayne Johnson, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Steve Austin, and The Undertaker.

In recent years, big names such as Sami Zayn, Roman Reigns, Liv Morgan, Chelsea Green, and Jacy Jane have all won WWE titles, with the sport’s popularity growing year-on-year.

Looking ahead to 2027, one of WWE’s most popular events, WrestleMania, will take place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, with some of the promotion’s biggest names set to feature.

WWE Fan-Favourite No Longer Seen as a 'Main Event Star'

According to a report by eWrestlingNews, one of WWE’s fan-favourites could be heading for a lesser role in the future.

The report stated that, while speaking on the latest episode of Wrestling Observer Radio, Dave Meltzer revealed that Bayley could be set for a different role.

It has been claimed that the idea of Bayley helping guide younger wrestlers in NXT is ‘not unrealistic’, due to the fact that ‘Bayley may personally want that kind of role’. However, nothing has been finalised yet.

The 37-year-old's contract is set to expire soon, and it has been said that she is ‘unlikely’ to leave WWE for All Elite Wrestling (AEW). Meltzer believes that Bayley is unlikely to be placed among the top four female stars in WWE.

Instead, it is believed that WWE feel Bayley is now more of a veteran who can help younger talents grow in the sport.

Bayley's WWE Career So Far

Back in 2012, Bayley, whose real name is Pamela Rose Martinez, signed for WWE and was assigned to the NXT brand, later winning the NXT Women’s Championship.

Over the years, the 37-year-old won the WWE (Raw) Women’s Championship twice and the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship twice. She also won the WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship twice with Sasha Banks, making her WWE’s first women’s Triple Crown and Grand Slam champion.

Bayley also tasted victory in the 2019 Money in the Bank ladder match as well as the 2024 Royal Rumble.

Having worked with many rising stars on the WWE main roster, it comes as no surprise that Bayley is being tipped for a future role with NXT.
