‘He can’t remain in a situation where his talent is wasted’ – Rayan Ait-Nouri’s entourage pushing for Manchester City exit

Rayan Ait-Nouri (25) will look to leave Manchester City during the transfer window, his entourage has told L’Équipe. The Algerian international has found chances hard to come by this season.

Ait-Nouri joined Manchester City from Wolverhampton Wanderers during the summer of 2025. Despite a strong start, he quickly tailed off. This season, he has played just four games in all competitions, accumulating a mere 168 minutes of football. The Algeria international is seemingly behind Josko Gvardiol and Nico O’Reilly in Enzo Maresca’s pecking order.

A summer exit was touted and almost came to fruition. L’Équipe understands that fierce rivals Manchester United made an approach late in the transfer window. However, their attempts to land the full-back on a loan with a buy option were unsuccessful. The Cityzens weren’t keen to sell to their rivals. Juventus were also interested in the former SCO Angers defender.

An exit in January is expected. His entourage has told L’Équipe that Ait-Nouri “retains good value” in the English market, evoking interest from the Premier League and elsewhere. “We have to find the best solution with Manchester City. He can’t remain in a situation where his talent is wasted,” his entourage added.
