Armenia’s Alina Charaeva reached the final of the Courmayeur WTA 125 on Saturday, beating France’s Elsa Jacquemot 6-2, 4-6, 6-1 in 1 hour 51 minutes.
In the final, she will face Germany’s Noma Noha Akugue, the sixth seed, who beat top seed Anna Blinkova 6-4, 6-3.
The second seed broke serve six times on 14 chances and lost her own serve only twice. She served seven aces without a double fault.
Jacquemot levelled the match by taking the second set, but won only one game in the decider. She had needed three sets in each of her first three matches, including a 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-1 win over Elizara Yaneva in the quarter-finals.
Charaeva, the world No. 97, made her top-100 debut earlier this month. In early October, she also beat Elena Rybakina at the China Open in Beijing.
