Texas A&M's coach Bucky McMillan enters his second season at the helm after leading the Aggies to the NCAA Tournament in Year 1, which isn't just impressive, but a sign that the AD, Trev Alberts, deserves immense credit for taking a chance on a coach who did not receive a ton of attention during his successful career leading the Samford Bulldogs.

This offseason, the focus wasn't just to replenish the roster; it was to add a top transfer portal player, and they did, landing former Kansas State shooting guard PJ Haggerty, who averaged nearly 24 points per game last season. In Sunday's exhibition game vs. SMU, Haggerty led the Aggies with 28 points and avoided what could have been a serious injury ahead of next Tuesday's season opener.

Bucky McMillan is to reignite Texas A&M's high school basketball recruiting in the 2027 class. This started after landing blue-chip four-star guard Chace Richardson earlier this year, followed by Monday's massive announcement from four-star small forward Dylan Jones, who is 247Sports' 40th-ranked prospect in the cycle and the No. 1-ranked prospect in Tennessee.
