Noni Madueke And Kai Havertz To Start; Riccardo Calafiori Out: Arsenal Predicted Lineup Vs Liverpool

Losing to a League Two side in the Carabao Cup is far from ideal preparation ahead of a trip to Anfield, but Arsenal will be looking for an instant response against Liverpool this weekend.

Manager Mikel Arteta has doubts over the fitness of multiple players, but reports suggest that several are winning their battles to be available for the fixture.

The Gunners don’t have a particularly good record at Anfield, but they have managed draws in three of their last 4 visits.

Press the next page as we share our Arsenal predicted lineup for the match on Sunday evening…

Goalkeeper and Defence

David Raya

GK – David Raya – the Spaniard will be reinstated after being rested for the cup tie against Fleetwood.

RB – Ben White – the 29-year-old has started 7 of Arsenal’s 8 league games so far this season.

CB – Ezri Konsa – the summer signing will be going up against Alexander Isak, and that will be a battle to keep an eye on.

CB – Gabriel – the Brazilian generally relishes these occasions when the Gunners’ backline is put under heavy pressure.

LB – Piero Hincapie – Riccardo Calafiori is not expected to be back in time for the game on Merseyside, so the Ecuadorian will keep his place after starting midweek.

Midfield

Declan Rice

CM – Declan Rice – the midfielder is believed to be winning his fitness battle, having been left out of the matchday squad for the Fleetwood match.

CM – Bruno Guimaraes – the Brazilian missed the crucial penalty in the shootout on Tuesday, and he will be keen to make amends as soon as possible.

AM – Martin Odegaard – the captain is the lynchpin that ensures the team functions in the final third.

Liverpool mainly play with a man-to-man marking system, so expect one of their midfielders to track Odegaard right across the pitch.

Forwards

Kai Havertz

RW – Noni Madueke – like Rice, the winger is expected to be available despite sustaining an ankle injury last week.

CF – Kai Havertz – the German came in for plenty of criticism after being so wasteful on Tuesday night, but he is streets ahead of Viktor Gyokeres in terms of what he offers the team.

LW – Eberechi Eze – the 28-year-old blows hot and cold, and Arteta will be hoping he has one of his good games at Anfield.

Christos Tzolis is closing in on his return to full fitness, and there are even suggestions he could make the bench this weekend, so Eze needs to make a good impression, or he could face another spell out of the side.
