With Gerry Cardinale in Italy for the next week, there are expected to be developments on the Head of Football front.
According to Peppe Di Stefano – who spoke live on Sky (via MilanNews) before the Udinese game – talks between Milan and Markus Krösche are continuing. The Rossoneri are looking for a new leader for the management, it’s clear the German is the preferred candidate.
According to the Sky correspondent, there could be significant news in the coming days, given that Cardinale landed in the country and he intends to stay until just after the derby against Inter on Saturday night.
In recent days, Krösche stepped back from his role at Eintracht Frankfurt, with the German club accepting his decision. However, the issue is that his contract has not been terminated, and rather he is on gardening leave.
What this means is that – until next summer – anyone wishing to secure the director’s services will still have to pay a sum of between €5-7m to Eintracht Frankfurt, to effectively release him from his contract.
Nonetheless, it seems like a figure that Cardinale might well be willing to pay, especially given the money spent on signings during the last summer transfer window. As a reminder, Matteo Moretto also revealed the German is an admirer of Ruben Amorim, and would be happy to work with him.
