Woking have signed free agent Josh Grant on a short-term deal.

The versatile 28-year-old defender can play at centre-back or in central midfield, adding depth and experience to the squad.

“We were close to signing Josh before he joined Carlisle last summer,” said Woking director of football Jody Brown.

“We’d obviously prefer to have time to bed people in, prepare and maintain continuity, but having ten of our 11 defenders unavailable is unprecedented.

“It won’t be easy for Josh to step straight in, but if called upon, he has the quality and experience to do it.”

Grant’s previous clubs include Bristol Rovers, Wealdstone and Carlisle United.
