The report said Police Scotland had been approached for comment. No police response was included at the time of publication.

On the pitch, Celtic secured an emphatic 7-1 victory as Martin O’Neill’s side moved four points clear at the top of the Scottish Premiership.

Callum Osmand marked his first professional start with two goals, while Benjamin Nygren also scored twice.

Kieran Tierney, Camilo Duran and a Jamie McCart own goal completed the scoring for the Hoops, with Laurent Mendy netting Hearts’ consolation.

It was the sort of attacking performance supporters have been waiting for, with Celtic playing at pace and repeatedly punishing the visitors’ defensive mistakes.

There were encouraging individual displays throughout the team, while Jota also got another 45 minutes under his belt as he continued building his match fitness.

The challenge now is to carry that confidence into Thursday’s European meeting with Celta Vigo. Celtic badly need the three points on Thursday evening.
