Dodds, who has been the number one at Wycombe Wanderers and in caretaker spells at Sunderland, joined Rovers in the summer.
He has been linked with the League One post after the sacking of Andy Woodman but Tony Mowbray expects him to remain at Ewood Park.
"No, they haven't been in touch," Mowbray revealed.
"We recruited Doddsy in the summer and what I would say is that it's his life but he's said he wants to work with me for a year or two.
"I am certainly not saying I am some sort of guru. I am someone he has worked with in the past and we had pretty good success.
"He's had a go at management at different times. I've spoken to him and I will wish him well and say good luck but I am pretty sure he wants to stay here.
"Not to learn from me but to watch how I deal with people, hierarchy, fan bases. If he wants longevity in management, some young managers need to learn the soft skills in football.
"Doddsy is a wonderful coach, great voice on the training ground. Everyone has to learn to deal with people, they have their own issues, lives and problems."

Dodds has suggested directly to Mowbray that nothing has changed in his mind and so Rovers are not expecting a reshuffle to their backroom staff.
“I would shake him by the hand and wish him all the very best if that's what he wants to do because it's his life, it's his family, it's his career," Mowbray reiterated.
“My only conversation was 10 minutes ago with him and he's almost laughing it off at this moment and said he came here because he wanted to work with me for a while.
"I'm totally happy with that if he doesn't want to go to Bromley. Maybe he might if he gets offered triple the salary but I would doubt that.
"I'm pretty sure he's going to be in our dugout at the weekend."
