BATON ROUGE – There is a big development for LSU football on its first injury report ahead of this weekend's game at Auburn.
Star junior tight end Trey'Dez Green is no longer listed on the report released Wednesday, Oct. 21, signaling his possible return to the field for No. 17 LSU (5-2, 2-2 SEC). His removal from the injury report means Green (6-7, 240) will be available to play against Auburn (4-2, 2-2) inside Jordan-Hare Stadium Saturday (11 a.m. CT, ABC).
Green sprained his knee in the game against Ole Miss a month ago and has missed the last four games for Lane Kiffin and LSU.
Initially, his injury was feared to be worse than what it ended up being. But his possible return to action after just four weeks is quicker than it was projected. Two weeks ago, Kiffin said that Green was "getting closer" to returning.
"If there's anybody that's going to come back sooner than maybe what people think, it would be him," Kiffin said. "He is out of the brace and moving it. So, getting closer."
Freshman defensive lineman Richard Anderson is the new name to the injury report for LSU, and he is listed as doubtful.
LSU has had rough injury luck this season with major key players getting hurt. Senior linebacker Whit Weeks fractured his fibula during the Texas A&M three weeks ago and his return to the field is uncertain. Junior safety Dashawn Spears suffered a season-ending knee injury in the Ole Miss game.
As it stands, LSU will be without four players for sure against Auburn in Weeks, Spears, wide receiver Phillip Wright III and linebacker Charles Ross II.
