Xabi Alonso will be unable to call upon Joao Pedro for tomorrow night’s Carabao Cup tie against Liverpool at Anfield. Pedro has made an impressive start to the campaign, scoring five goals and registering three assists in seven matches, but he now looks set for a spell on the sidelines.

But speaking on Tuesday, Alonso confirmed: "He has an injury on his thigh and he’s going be out for a few weeks. Let's see how many. We don’t want to predict on that. But not ready for the next games.

"He's a key player. We will miss him, but we have to be ready to deal with the injury, and be competitive and try and win with the players we have available. This is the situation."

And with tomorrow’s game in mind, we have rounded up the latest Chelsea injury news.
