Former Texas A&M TE Nate Boerkircher scores second NFL touchdown

Former Texas A&M tight end Nate Boerkircher continues to make an impact during his rookie NFL season, scoring his second career touchdown Sunday in the Jacksonville Jaguars' 42-7 victory over the Indianapolis Colts.

He connected with quarterback Trevor Lawrence for a 31-yard touchdown reception midway through the second quarter, extending Jacksonville's lead to 14-0. The touchdown marked another milestone for the rookie, who scored his first NFL touchdown against the Houston Texans on October 18. That reception came on a one-handed, 1-yard catch from Lawrence during Jacksonville's 34-31 loss.

Sunday's touchdown was Boerkircher's only reception against Indianapolis, but it was his longest catch of the season and his first scoring play covering more than 1 yard. The former Aggie has gradually become more involved in Jacksonville's passing attack after beginning the season primarily contributing as a blocker. He entered Sunday's game with six receptions for 52 yards and one touchdown through six appearances.

Boerkircher was selected by Jacksonville in the second round of the 2026 NFL Draft with the 56th overall pick. The 6-foot-5, 250-pound tight end spent four seasons at Nebraska before transferring to Texas A&M, where he continued developing as a versatile offensive player.

His latest touchdown came during a dominant Jaguars offensive performance. Lawrence completed 10 of 14 passes for 210 yards and three touchdowns, while Jacksonville accumulated 366 total yards.

The win improved Jacksonville to 5-2 as Boerkircher continues to establish himself in the Jaguars' offense.
