Liverpool endured a frustrating evening in its defeat to Arsenal on Sunday, but there were at least a couple of injury boosts for the Reds.
Kai Havertz’s first-half goal proved to be all that separated the two sides at Anfield, with Liverpool missing the chance to move within three points of the defending Premier League champions, meaning it will have to check its own burgeoning title hopes.
But while things were getting heated on the pitch as the Gunners kept their hosts at bay, Andoni Iraola can at least take encouragement from the returns of Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Munoz, with the pair coming off the bench after missing the previous three games.
That means Liverpool’s injury list has been reduced, and there should hopefully be more players returning soon. Here is the latest on the injury front for the Reds following the defeat to Arsenal…
With Szoboszlai and Munoz back, Jeremie Frimpong is likely to be the next player to make a return, although it's unlikely he will be back before the international break.
Iraola has already indicated it is more likely that the right-back will have to wait until after this month's break to make a comeback from his latest injury problem, having been forced off just minutes after coming on as a substitute against Brentford.
Possible return date: November 22 vs Manchester United
Liverpool will be hoping Giovanni Leoni's return is just around the corner now. The young defender's recovery from an ACL injury has taken longer than anticipated, having originally been earmarked for a return to training in pre-season.
A revised date during the most recent international break also had to be pushed back, with Iraola having indicated the next target will be this month's break, although how long it will take for the 19-year-old to get up to speed with the rest of his teammates is still not clear.
“Giovanni’s injury, I wasn’t here but talking to the medical department, it was not just an ACL – it was a bad injury, a lot of things around the knee were involved apart from the ACL," Iraola recently said.
Possible return date: December

Liverpool FC have launched their new home kit for the 2026/27, inspired by iconic adidas strip worn during the club's 1989/90 title-winning campaign.
Conor Bradley is another player who should hopefully return to training before the end of the month, ending what has been a long wait after suffering a serious knee injury against Arsenal all the way back in January.
After initial hopes that he might have played in the World Cup had Northern Ireland qualified, Iraola has indicated that Bradley may be able to join in with the rest of his teammates later this month.
Given his injury record, Liverpool will not want to rush him back too quickly, but should everything go to plan, Bradley could be back i action before the end of the year.
Possible return date: December
Another player who is being targeted for a return to training this month, Hugo Ekitike's anticipated comeback will be a huge boost to Liverpool considering the serious nature of his injury.
Having ruptured his Achilles against Paris Saint-Germain in April, there were fears that the striker could be out for an extended period, so the potential for him to return before the end of the year is a major bonus for the Reds.
Recent reports in France have indicated he is on course to return to training before the end of this month, while Ekitike is said to be targeting the Christmas period for his competitive comeback, but Liverpool will need to be careful with him.
