Micah Parsons brutally shoots down Chiefs threat — 'Stop this madness'
Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs offense struggled in a disappointing showing against the Seahawks

From where Micah Parsons is standing, the Kansas City Chiefs are not Super Bowl contenders.

On Sunday Night Football last week, the Chiefs suffered a heavy 20-3 road loss to the Seattle Seahawks. Harrison Butker missed two kicks at crucial moments in the contest, leading to the controversial signing of former Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.

Butker’s misses were ultimately punished by the Seahawks, as Emanuel Wilson broke away for a 21-yard touchdown to ice the game. Seattle also forced a turnover on downs as the Kansas City offense fell short once again, securing the dominant victory for the reigning Super Bowl champions on home turf.

The Seahawks defense came to play against Super Bowl MVP Kenneth Walker; the running back was held to a season-low 36 yards and averaged 2.6 yards per carry. The Chiefs offense ultimately struggled, failing to reach the red zone even once for the first time in Patrick Mahomes’ career as the quarterback threw for 165 yards and an interception, ensuring the Minnesota Vikings remain the last unbeaten team standing entering Week 8.

Having watched the performance, Parsons isn’t concerned. On his ‘The Edge’ podcast, Parsons said: “The Chiefs don’t- they don't scare me. Like watching that game, I was not scared.”

When asked what the AFC West franchise is missing that stops him from being scared, Parsons explained: “They need someone to be able to take the top off.”

As his co-host pointed out they had Xavier Worthy and the receiver’s incredible speed, Parsons was quick to shut down his thought process. He interjected: “We have to stop this madness. Just cause you buy Tyreek Hill speed don't mean you buying Tyreek. Your speed could be efficient, but people forget Tyreek's strong.

“And it's not even just his speed. ‘Reek was stopping on the dime.”

The pair then discussed Jaxon Smith-Njigba’s speed, before Parsons outlined how a receiver can leverage speed to be a weapon. “To me, what really separates receivers is not how fast you can run forward, besides the nine round, the go route.

“How many times are you actually just running straight? Your ability to change direction and come in and out of breaks is going to dictate how good you are. That’s the separator.”

The Chiefs have been linked with a move for Tyreek Hill, who is a free agent after the Miami Dolphins cut ties with the All-Pro receiver. Without a deep threat like Hill, Mahomes will have to use the likes of Travis Kelce, Rashee Rice, and Worthy to get downfield.

The 5-1 Chiefs can return to winning ways against the 5-2 Denver Broncos at Mile High on Sunday.
