The 'Bees' made home advantage count, where only Liverpool have managed to beat them this season, putting an end to a four-match winless run across all competitions that included a midweek League Cup exit at the hands of Sunderland.

Keith Andres' men struck first on the half-hour mark courtesy of a bizarre opener. Dango Ouattara reached the byline and drilled a ball towards the back post, only for Milenkovic to inadvertently divert his clearance over the goalkeeper and into his own net.

With Nottingham Forest pushing forward in the second half, Brentford seized on the counter-attacking space. Igor Thiago, whose only previous Premier League goal this season came against Chelsea, sealed the points by finishing off a squared delivery from Jaidon Anthony.

The London club climb to sixth on 14 points, just one behind fifth-placed Liverpool—who have a game in hand—and two off Chelsea in the final Champions League berth.

Forest, meanwhile, will spend another week in the drop zone, sitting penultimate with six points.
