How to watch Liverpool vs Arsenal live: Stream, TV, team news, prediction

Premier League champions Arsenal head to Anfield, their own personal house of horrors, where they haven’t beaten Liverpool in 14 years, needing to do so on Sunday (11:30 am ET) to keep pace with Manchester City in the title race.

The last time Arsenal beat Liverpool on Merseyside, in September 2012, manager Mikel Arteta was instead known as midfielder Mikel Arteta for the Gunners. Arsenal have picked up just five points in their last 13 games at Anfield, and Arteta’s teams are responsible for three of them in six attempts. Arsenal are down three wingers this weekend, with Bukayo Saka and Christos Tzolis both out with thigh injuries and 16-year-old Max Dowman suspended after being sent off in the League Cup fourth round defeat to League Two side Fleetwood Town on Tuesday. The first (of many) crossroads moment for the defending champions, no doubt.

On the other side, Liverpool are getting healthy and rounding into finer form all at the same time. Dominik Szoboszlai and Victor Muñoz are expected to be available after recovering from short-term injuries and the Reds have rebounded from their only defeat this season, to Man City, with a pair of wins against overachieving Brentford and Brighton (both in the top-six heading into the weekend). Andoni Iraola made only three changes to his regular lineup as Liverpool knocked Chelsea out of the League Cup on penalties on Wednesday.

Liverpool vs Arsenal prediction

Arsenal will find it difficult to pass their way out of the back against Liverpool’s press, and the lack of attacking quality out wide will make it difficult to get in behind when they inevitably decide to go long. The start of a red-hot run for the Reds? Liverpool 2-1 Arsenal.
