Rangers News understands that one of Rangers’ backroom figures has parted ways with the club despite joining them in June 2026.
Hugo Scheckter, who was the Gers’ Football Operations Consultant, is no longer associated with the Ibrox outfit.
Rangers News exclusively reported that Scheckter had moved to Ibrox, but his stay in Glasgow was short-lived, and he has left after just five months.
Poll
Which Rangers player has disappointed the most this season and why?
This poll is now closed.
He consulted on a number of things behind the scenes, including team operations, player welfare, and other administrative roles. Scheckter also travelled with the first team to Spain during pre-season, so he did play quite a hands-on role at the club.
As things stand, it is unclear if Rangers are looking to hire a like-for-like replacement. Scheckter was signed on a consultant basis, rather than a full-time one, and he is currently continuing with his other roles in football.
He is a mentor at the English Football Association, the Player Welfare Lead at UEFA, and is the Founder and Managing Director of The Player Care Group. His past roles include stints at Manchester United, West Ham and Brentford.
