How to watch rugby league on TV this week including England v France and grassroots final double-header

Week two of the Rugby League World Cup is now upon us, so here is how you can watch all the action from the comfort of your own home.

In contrast to last week, the games don’t get underway until Friday morning, meaning fans have had to wait an extra day to get their rugby league fix.

Following their 70-6 defeat to England last time out, Wales Women get the action under way on Friday, as they take on Samoa. Both sides were well beaten in week one, yet Samoa undoubtedly go into that contest as favourites.

After that, it’s the turn of Kristian Woolf’s Tonga, who dismantled England 30-12 in a victory that all but seals their semi-final place. They take on Lebanon, and all they need there is a win and a place in the final four will be theirs.

On Saturday, it’s a 3:15am start in the UK as Papua New Guinea play their part in a double header. Their women’s side kick the morning’s action off against Fiji, before the men play Samoa.

Brian McDermott’s England are third up on Saturday, as they look to down rivals France, before England Women take on the Australian Jillaroos in the ‘main event’.

On Sunday, New Zealand Women face France Women in another game that’s expected to be a heavy scoreline, before the Kiwis men face the Cook Islands. A similar result is expected there.

Having opened the tournament last week, Kevin Walters’ Kangaroos close the show this time around, as they welcome a Fiji side that includes Huddersfield’s Taane Milne, Castleford’s Semi Valemei and soon-to-be Warrington prop Mitchell Prest.

Away from the World Cup, there are two amateur rugby league finals that will be broadcast live on YouTube as East Leeds take on Outlon Raiders in the final of the National Conference League Division One Final, before West Hull meet Hunslet ARLFC in the Premier Division Final.
