Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Riccardo Calafiori picked up a knock during the 2-0 win over Everton on Saturday
The Italian international walked straight down the tunnel at the final whistle, having come on as a substitute in the second half, and asked about the player’s fitness, Arteta said:
“He had a light issue; we’re not quite sure what it is, something very small, but he was cautious of that.”
It’s unlikely that Calafiori will be risked against Fleetwood Town in the Carabao Cup, but he should be available for the weekend.
Expected Return Date – Sunday 1st November vs Liverpool (a)
Speaking earlier this month, Arteta said that he hoped to have the Greek international back in a “few weeks.”
Tzolis has been sidelined since the last international break after sustaining a hamstring injury whilst playing for Greece.
There have been suggestions that the winger could be fit to face Liverpool this weekend, but he has yet to return to training.
Unless there is evidence to the contrary, it’s likely that Tzolis’s comeback may have to wait until after the next round of international fixtures, although there is a chance he could play Hull City on November 7th.
Expected Return Date – Mid to late November
Arteta is hoping to have the defender back in full training just before or just after the next international break.
Saliba has not played so far this season, having sustained a back injury whilst playing for France during the World Cup semi-final against Spain back in July.
Expected Return Date – Mid to late November
The forward was forced off in the first half of the 2-2 draw against Bayern Munich last week, and it was confirmed after the match that he had sustained a quad injury.
It is believed that Saka has sustained a grade two tear that could keep him on the sidelines for up to six weeks.
